The Senior, People & Talent Business Partner is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and managers in designated parts of the business, and for supporting leaders in the organization to optimize and drive results in their unique areas. These responsibilities include but are not limited to office services, employee relations, real time coaching, program development centered around talent strategies, management of content and materials, and supporting engagement activities. This role will lead a team of Office Services/Administrative staff.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Function as an internal consultant to internal front line leaders to support them in achieving their business objectives and business results
  • Works closely with leaders to build and manage a “comprehensive people plan” to influence lasting change over business units- particularly from a change management lens and understanding the impact on people
  • Provide guidance to leaders and managers by providing them with thoughtful coaching/mentoring related to talent and performance gaps
  • Lead, coach and develop the Office Services Team
  • Provide input on organizational transformation efforts, including workforce planning, change management, process improvement, org design and capability development for assigned areas; Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures and management of implementation
  • Assist in the development of programs and tools to advance Bright Health’s talent infrastructure with key focus on developing high performing people leaders and people managers
  • Administer change initiatives and standard People team programs (merit, performance review, job descriptions)
  • Recommend internal learning and training tools for employees related to talent and career advancement, Bright Health business and education materials, and employee training – with additional focus on business unit development needs
  • Participate in leader succession planning for designated functions and work with leaders to identify and develop a bench of talented leaders and for business critical roles
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to people managers (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with the legal/compliance teams as needed/required
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation
  • Collaborate with Bright people to develop strategies focused on employee engagement and employee inclusion
  • Assist in building and managing processes centered around our Employee Engagement Survey and ensure that we have an action-oriented plan to improve our engagement in teams and in the organization
  • Collaborate with People Operations on employee relations activities – includes investigations, employee terminations and advising managers on interpreting policies and providing guidance
  • Participates in the development, evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the business leaders and People Operations, Talent Acquisition and Total Rewards to support the development of solutions, programs and policies

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organizational Effectiveness, or Business Management or a related field; or equivalent experience is required
  • Five (5) or more years’ experience working in human resources
  • Two (2) years’ experience in fast-paced, high growth work environment preferred
  • Experience operating as a business partner with mid-level leadership
  • Healthcare or technology experience preferred
  • Highly Proficient in handling of Employee Relations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint

  • In possession of analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to seamlessly scale from high-level strategy to results-oriented operational details
  • A proven track record of delivering premium results and working across multiple stakeholders in a prioritized and systematic way and helping solve complex business issues with effective HR, People & Talent solutions
  • Delivering objectives using a change management and project management approach
  • Able to maintain confidentiality – keeps sensitive data confidential and protects and safeguards this information
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, high growth environment
  • Takes initiative – is internally inspired to perform a task to the best of one’s ability using their own drive and initiative with strong organizational/prioritization skills and close attention to detail
  • Self-confident and energetic –comfortable making decisions and strong ability to decipher and define priorities; works at a fast pace
  • Risk Assessment & Risk Mitigation – perform comprehensive due diligence to assess and manage risk(s) with implementations, execution, and accessibility. To include appropriate budgeting, budget management, and communication of risk assessment, and planned risk mitigation for the organization
  • Experience coaching, consulting and partnering to develop company leaders
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing, coaching, consulting and impacting the business working as a business partner
  • Adept at strategic thinking and problem solving
  • Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM_CP) and/or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM_SCP) is highly desired
