Internship Overview:
The Kendra Scott Summer Internship Program offers students an opportunity to gain exposure to the inner workings of our fast-growing, multi-category, fashion lifestyle brand. We value all of our interns and commit to providing a comprehensive learning experience that aligns with individual interests and career goals.
Basics:
• 10-week, paid experience in Austin, TX
• Relocation assistance is not provided

Position Overview:
Reporting to our Product Development Manager, our Product Development Intern will assist in all aspects of the development cycle for jewelry. We will work together to counter source high-volume jewelry product with various vendors strategically for both execution excellence and cost-savings to support expansive growth and increased profitability. This will help to support our plan to tackle/manage the increased tariffs/duties from China but also to help our production capacity and expand our vendor/factory portfolio. Main priorities will be sample tracking, calendar management, vendor communication and cost data review and assisting with negotiations.
Responsibilities:
• Implements plans to achieve departmental priorities
• Work with PD Manager to analyze existing processes and create new innovative processes, practices and tracking methods to help the CFTs operate smoother, smarter and more economically
• Work with PD manager to lead a full product development cycle on one category/assortment start to finish to holistically understand the sourcing process from design to production
• Cost BOM analysis to look at different components and material cost improvement opportunities
• Review current tracking tool and create a better/more functional version to be reviewed with PD team at the end of internship
• Vendor Management - intern will be assigned a factory/vendor to manage the relationship and be coached for experience and growth opportunity
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• The ability to work 40 hours per week (Monday through Friday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm)
• Availability to work May 20- July 26, 2019. Consideration will be given for special life events with the exception of Internship Orientation (Monday, May 20th)
o Memorial Day & Fourth of July will be observed as company holidays
• Strong Excel skills and understanding of retail math
• The ability to demonstrate strong leadership among peers and across the organization
