This position is in Austin, TX, and will report to headquarters when the world opens back up.
About this role:
We are looking for an experienced, detail oriented, organized, Contract Specialist. This individual will be responsible for managing the customer and vendor agreement process: preparation, review, negotiation, execution and renewal. You will act as a critical liaison between our company and our customers, vendors and content providers. The role will also assist in the company’s legal and regulatory compliance. Our Contracts Specialist has exceptional organizational skills and a strong understanding of contractual legal language. This role will require the ability to amend contractual templates and give a high-level review of vendor agreements. 
This role reports directly to the CFO, however they will collaborate with each and every department as a cross-functional team member to build and maintain contracts throughout the company. 
JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Amend various legal templates and nonstandard contracts for customers and vendors providing redlined recommendations, alternatives and creative solutions 
  • Negotiate directly with customer attorneys or purchasing staff until consensus on business terms have been reached
  • Manage contract database and coordination with accounting and business lead
  • Assist outside counsel with third-party contractual requirements and regulatory filings 
  • Serve as 1st point of contact to internal business units to answer contract-related inquiries and escalate as needed to senior management
  • Provide continuing contract education cross-functionally, so department heads and departments can work smarter, not harder regarding contracts

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree; paralegal certification a plus, but not required
  • 3+ years relevant business or legal experience
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Amazing follow through
  • A+ critical thinking skills
  • Ability to operate autonomously while being a cross-functional team player
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills
  • Proven ability to manage high volume workload within a fast paced work environment
  • Excellent problem solving skills, judgement, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
