THE ROLE

 

Here at HubSpot, we aim to be a daily part of our customers' lives before they even use our product. That’s why we acquired The Hustle, a daily email newsletter sent to 1.5 million readers with the latest business and tech news.

 

You will be responsible for performance based copywriting to support our Daily email newsletter and premium subscription, Trends. You will work closely with key stakeholders across teams to acquire, engage and retain our Daily audience, along with paid subscribers.

 

Most importantly, you will help champion our audience, understand what they love and create copy that delivers a remarkable experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write a variety of copy each day for our Daily email newsletter, including HubSpot marketing campaigns and help cross promote owned media (ex content and podcasts)
  • Write campaign copy to help convert Daily readers in paid Trends subscribers
  • Write paid advertising and landing page copy to support full funnel marketing
  • Write occasional free trial marketing emails to convert Trends email optins into paid subscribers
  • Write lifecycle marketing campaigns, including user onboarding to help educate new readers
  • Collaborate with leaders across the business to ensure copy is high-quality and high-performing
  • Communicate with Campaign Manager, Growth Marketers and other team members to ensure deadlines are met
  • Always ask yourself: is this an experience that our audience will love and want to share?

 

MUST-HAVE QUALITIES:

  • Must have experience writing competitive direct response copy
  • You have written, tested and measured your results in direct response environment
  • Self starter with can do attitude
  • Your copy SELLS
  • Speed: we move fast and need you to keep pace
  • Ability to meet hard daily deadlines
  • Defaults to optimism, one of our company’s core values 
  • Analytical aptitude to analyze campaigns, A/B test, and iterate toward better results

 

IDEAL QUALITIES:

 

It’s also a plus if you have any Photoshop or graphic design experience and/or drumming proficiency -- our band is growing and we could use a percussionist. 

  • Experience writing for media or tech-focused brands
  • Any ad-related schooling
