What Your Days Will be Like:

The Director of Ecommerce & Marketing Strategy for LifeMart is responsible for merchandising the LifeMart product offering and optimizing the user experience to positively impact KPIs. This includes the ability to measure performance, capture insights, and make strategic recommendations in multiple areas including member acquisition/retention, site engagement, email marketing, and merchant performance.

The Director of Ecommerce & Marketing Strategy will work with product, marketing, and creative resources and coordinate all user experience testing and enhancements. They will set the performance objectives and measurement criteria, and track results. The Director is expected to possess a fundamental understanding of eCommerce, product/service merchandising, usability design, and testing.

What You'll Be Working On: 

  • Lead teams in the development and execution of LifeMart marketing & merchandising strategy to improve member acquisition and drive transactions by leading a data-driven, test & learn approach to email marketing, registration flows, site merchandising, and product functionality.
  • Develop and prioritize test strategies, set performance objectives & measurement criteria, track & communicate results across the organization. Maintain testing history and related data. Transform data into impactful strategic insights and recommendations to optimize the end-to-end customer journey, ultimately driving engagement and retention
  • Use web analytic and business intelligence tools including but not limited to Tableau, Google Analytics, Amplitude, MS Excel, and Evolv to provide insight and recommendations on overall product performance and help drive sound business decisions. Explore additional technology platforms to support these efforts
  • Lead and handle external vendors/technology partners as extensions of the marketing strategy team. Coordinate annual contract negotiations with said partners.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • 5+ years of eCommerce and Product/Service Merchandising Experience.
  • 5+ years of Direct-to-Consumer and Subscription Marketing Experience
  • Sophisticated knowledge of digital and direct marketing channels and practices, as well as proficiencies in eCommerce merchandising and usability optimization experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong critical thinking and analytics skills to develop data-driven strategies and evaluate performance.
  • Deep Knowledge and understanding of customer behavior, psychology of user interface design, and web heuristics, with customer experience at the forefront.
  • Proficiency using site analytics tools (Amplitude, Google Analytics, Omniture, or other).
  • Email marketing experience including creative testing and list optimization.
  • A/B and Multivariate testing experience – Optimizely or similar experience preferred.
  • Understanding of data visualization and direct experience with using BI tools (i.e. Tableau)
  • Sophisticated skills using Microsoft Excel
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities who can get results both independently, as well as a part of a group.
  • Ability to influence others and champion projects to exec/senior leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills for writing reports, proposals, and presentations with proven data interpretation capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented and a quick learner.
