What we’re looking for:
Modernize seeks an experienced and proven leader for our Director of SEO. You should be a online marketing veteran with extensive experience with SEO, Content, PR, & A/B Testing. You will build and mentor your team while growing current initiatives and testing new opportunities.
What you will be doing
- Own the overall organic search strategy with an effective balance between the technical needs of search engine bots and the functional needs of our users
- Manage the SEO feature prioritization process, with a mind for testing and iteration to drive organic search growth, to develop an SEO product roadmap
- Perform regular site audits, comprehensive keyword research, and competitive analysis
- Define metrics, setup and maintain dashboards to monitor KPIs, and provide regular reporting to key stakeholders on efforts, learnings and recommendations
- Build and execute a PR Strategy
- Manage a content team to create both onsite content as well as content for PR & Guest Posts
- Manage an Inbound Link acquisition team to obtain relevant high quality links
- Manage A/B testing to increase both revenue and user engagement
- Work with the Product team to create functionality and user experiences that will improve the user experience and help organic rankings.
Who You Are:
- Tenured online marketing professional with a deep understanding of SEO, Content, PR, & A/B Testing.
- Demonstrated success of growing and scaling a team
- Self-driven to succeed and thrive in a dynamic working environment
- Extremely detail oriented with an analytical mentality
What you need:
- 10+ years of direct technical SEO experience launching, measuring, and scaling initiatives to increase organic traffic
- Proven track record of large scale programmatic SEO
- Ability to play a product manager role and lead a manage and lead a product development team
- Excellent communicator whether collaborating with engineering or presenting to executive team
- Thorough knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript.
- Strong background in web analytics (GA, Adobe Analytics)
- Deep understanding of Mobile SEO (Responsive, Progressive, AMP)
- Strong data analysis skills and proficiency with SEO tools such as GA, Search Console, Moz and Ahrefs
- Innovative thinker as it relates to search technology and search industry changes, developing deep knowledge of desktop, mobile, image and social search
