About the Marketing Team
The OJO Labs Marketing team is creative, analytical, and passionate about our business, our craft, and our pets; we’re a small and growing high-impact team. We aim to always keep the needs, wants, and goals of consumers at the forefront of every decision we make, through insightful, compelling storytelling, that fuses the head and the heart. We influence with deep, quantitative analyses, wrapped in the context of qualitative insights. Every member on the team has their own domain knowledge and subject matter expertise, creating the opportunity and responsibility for ownership and deep collaboration on company-wide initiatives.
The Role
OJO Labs is looking for a Head of Storytelling and PR to bring a new level of insight and humanity into the stories we tell about our customers, our offerings, and our company. As a member of the Marketing Leadership Team, you’ll craft the master narrative for OJO anchored in purpose while collaborating with our PR agency on data PR, ‘story doing’, awards and recognition, and thought leadership. You’ll spearhead a new content area with more immersive storytelling that brings emotion and humanity to the stories we tell about homebuyers, sellers, and owners along with the talented agents and industry professionals that are at the core of our end-to-end experience. In this role, you’ll also work closely with the executive team on investor and industry communications.
We are looking for a strategist and storyteller who finds inspiration in both the data and the individual anecdotes that bring it to life. You’ll tap into society and culture while deftly weaving the origin story, brand purpose, and tremendous ambition of OJO Labs into a differentiated and compelling narrative. We seek an experienced leader who brings empathy and insight into the grand challenge of leveling the playing field for all homebuyers and sellers and is inspired to create signature stories to illustrate our progress. As a practitioner, you’ll be working alongside marketers in insights and brand; product marketing; and creative – including design, copywriting, and social media – and partnering frequently to bring your ideas to life. You’ll collaborate day-to-day with our PR agency, CMO, and work consistently with members of the executive team.
What we need from you:
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Excellent communicator who is seen as a go-to in the development of strategic narratives
- Data-driven and insights-inspired track record of telling new stories to new (and existing) audiences and bringing fresh perspective to traditional narratives
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with teams including PR, Insights, Design, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product to develop outstanding and differentiated expressions of story
- Proven ability to make the complex simple, digestible, and compelling
- Track record in setting the strategy and objectives for your functional area -- including existing programs and projects, thought leadership, and greenfield areas
- Bachelor’s degree
