About the Role
The Senior Manager of Channel Marketing will be an integral part of Udemy's Channel Marketing team which includes the following owned channels; On-site, Mobile & Web Push, In-App Messaging, and Email. This role has five distinct functions: You will lead the team managing day to day operations and overall production of the following owned marketing channels; Onsite, Mobile Push, and In-App Messaging, including flawless campaign and experimentation production for business critical strategies within Promotions, Personalization, and Subscriptions while monitoring deliverability within each channel, 2) You will partner with the Channel Strategy/Performance team on the implementation of new owned marketing channels such as; Web Push, SMS, etc 3) You will improve and implement processes and workflows that support and scale the team's efforts, 4) You will be the main business stakeholder for cross-functional platform buildout with Product and Engineering teams to ensure our tools/systems are built for scale, and 5) You will be the a cross functional strategy partner, representing the Owned Channels team, working closely to actualize business strategies across Promotions, Personalization, Subscriptions, Partnerships, and more to guarantee an optimal cross-channel experience in all owned marketing channels to Udemy's students and instructors.
About You
You have a bias for action, you can work with technical marketing channel teams to provide the most optimal customer experiences across all owned marketing channels, and work seamlessly with stakeholders across marketing, product, data science and engineering teams. If you can balance empathy and efficiency, can stay on top of multiple and sometimes ambiguous priorities in our unique marketplace, and are hungry to build and own a critical piece of the revenue-value-chain of a global, rapidly growing education technology business, then this job is for you.
Here's What You'll Be Doing:

  • Own all 3 main user facing interfaces of the team; Web, Mobile Push, and In-App Messaging, including;
    • Leading, inspiring and motivating the current team
    • Implementing stellar marketing experiences across multiple owned channels
    • Managing allocation to ensure timely deliverability, alignment and bandwidth
  • Support the team on how complex campaigns and experiments are conducted so they are launched flawlessly within our external (Braze) and internal tools.
  • Be a key thought partner for business critical strategies including in promos, personalization, subscriptions, partnerships to ensure resourcing, timely implementation, and flawless production
  • Be a cross-functional stakeholder to platform buildout with Product and Engineering teams
  • Work closely with our email team in US and India to coordinate and improve campaign production
  • Maintain strong external vendor relationships and track budget accordingly
  • Lead your team through change and adjust goals and strategy to ensure positive business outcomes with a mature demeanor when needed
  • Translate department-level goals and annual goals into measurable team-level monthly and quarterly goals and key initiatives to drive business results and cascade goals to your team
  • Your leadership is a balance of management (delegation, decision-making) but you are increasingly able to lead by influence and inspiration (setting a vision, collaborating with other teams to find common ground).
  • You work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company and your function.
  • You make final decisions on operational matters to ensure effective achievement of objectives

  • 8+ years experience in cross channel marketing, examples include; web, mobile, email
  • 4+ years of experience leading and inspiring global teams across different time zones
  • Ability to lead, inspire and motivate a team of channel marketing managers
  • Experience building and maintaining a high performing team across multiple time zones
  • Strong operations skills are essential. You will be juggling multiple processes and tasks. Project management skills paired with a high degree of organization will be key.
  • Strong business sense on channel marketing best practices and ways to implement strategies
  • Identify and implement scalable solutions to enhance workflows and processes
  • Oversee the quality and integrity of cross-channel campaigns, prioritizing the customer experience across every touch point.
  • Strong cross-functional relationship building, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Influence based leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate test design and implementation across marketing channels
  • Proficient implementing strategies using Braze across channels is preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast moving business environment where ambiguity is constant
  • You are creative, resourceful, detail-oriented, and highly organized
  • Educational background in marketing or business is helpful
  • You have a passion for online learning, and a desire to create opportunities that will change lives through teaching and learning globally


Compensation structure for Colorado based candidates:
Minimum Salary: $125,000 + Equity + Benefits (see below)
