We’re looking for a skilled Technical SEO Manager with experience in e-commerce SEO. Our new Technical SEO Manager will report into our SEO Team Lead and will be responsible for all Technical SEO initiatives. Technical SEO Manager will work across departments to continuously improve overall performance of client websites (and other digital platforms), with specific accountability for organic search rankings attributed to technical optimizations. This is an integral position within a high-performance, fast-paced team, and will require full Technical Search Engine Optimization knowledge. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, curious, analytical, with strong written and verbal communication skills.


The Technical SEO Manager will be responsible for planning and executing all Technical SEO initiatives and will spearhead website/platform Migration campaigns. In this role, the technical SEO manager will be relied on for technical SEO problem solving and insights. We expect the candidate to Leverage analytical, technical, and tactical skills in a highly collaborative setting, working side-by-side with engineering, data science & web development/implementation teams. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work independently to identify areas for Technical on-site improvements for client owned platforms. 
  • Conduct comprehensive technical audits and log file analysis - Monitor, report, improve, and test technical issues on client websites 
  • Identify and propose solutions for website speed, performance (Core Web Vitals) and mobile-friendliness issues 
  • Assist with management of htaccess files, create and optimize robots.txt, xml sitemaps and structured data recommendations for all clients 
  • Spearhead, plan, and document website/CMS platforms/design-change migration complete lifecycle
  • Clearly articulate and deliver recommendations that will ensure all brand assets are Indexable & Crawlable (optimize URL structures, site crawl performance, server vs. client-side rendering, caching & CDNs, CSS, XML etc.) 
  • Ensure technical SEO practices are being utilized across the marketing organization (Ecommerce SEO guidelines, UI/UX Design SEO best practices & Web implementation best practices)
  • Assist with implementation of technical changes to the site - Meta Tags, redirects, internal linking etc.
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, UI/UX Design, Merchandising, and Product teams to implement tasks and apply SEO best practices 

Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in a technical SEO role 
  • General knowledge of e-commerce platforms and SEO usability principals
  • Ability to analyze complex technical SEO issues, identify root cause and research solutions 
  • Proficient working knowledge of various SEO tools such as or similar-to SEMRush, SearchMetrics, Ahrefs, Botify, Majestic SEO, Screaming Frog, Google’s Keyword Planner, Google APIs, speed monitoring tools) 
  • Proficient working with Google Analytics, Google Search Console & Google DataStudio 
  • Proficient command of HTML/CSS & a good understanding of JS, PHP and regex 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel - Macros, Pivots, lookups etc.
  • Familiarity working and navigating within complex CMS platforms like Salesforce, Shopify etc.
  • Firm understanding of SEO best practices and Google best practices guidelines. Up-to-date knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms 

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with Python
  • Experience working in an agency environment 
  • Familiarity with optimizing JS frameworks is a plus 
  • Data Visualization skills

Our headquarters is located in Austin, Tx at the address listed. The majority of our roles are flexible hybrid for employees who live within the cities where we have offices and remote for employees who are not located in those cities.
