About This Role

We’re seeking a Business Operations Manager / Sr. Associate to join our team in either Palo Alto, CA or Austin, TX. We are looking for analytical and strategic individuals that are not afraid of rolling up their sleeves to quickly learn about the different parts of the business and drive change throughout the organization. This is a highly cross-functional role, and candidates will ultimately work on projects spanning all parts of Hippo from Product, Sales, Support, Finance and Marketing.

  • You are able to collaborate across functional areas and with external partners to define, prioritize and implement key initiatives and to hit or exceed business goals
  • You have a desire to take initiative, comfort with ambiguity, and a bias towards action
  • You have the intellectual horsepower to think through and address various different business problems in parallel
  • You are detail oriented, flexible and have the ability to interact with and influence a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders
  • You have no ego. Believe in true partnership and collaboration throughout an organization.

Responsibilities

  • Analytics: Create baseline metrics and guide teams to track KPIs against goals and targets. Establish and maintain management dashboards, project reports, and executive review presentations that will drive business outcomes and strive for continued optimization.
  • Growth & Operational Success: be able to see the entire landscape of the business and understand that projects & initiatives do not happen in a silo. Understand how different levers have indirect & complimentary benefits to multiple teams.
  • Business planning: Lead meetings through deliverables, outcomes and actions. Own agenda development and track follow-up actions and influence leaders to complete forward looking business plans.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with multiple cross-functional partners, including product, sales, marketing, finance and legal in order to drive initiatives forward.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience for Sr. Associate, 4-6 years of experience for Manager
  • Background in strategy, analytics and/or business operations at Tech companies. Management consulting experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, an ability to create refined financial & data models in Excel. Bonus points if you have background in SQL and database query skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to both influence and develop strong partnerships at all levels
  • Excellent business judgment with the ability to create sound frameworks to drive towards decisions and organizational alignment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Marketing preferred; MBA a plus.
