What You Get to Do 

Ben, our Founder & CEO, is looking for a chief of staff to work with him directly on his most important initiatives. From preparing for and attending Board Meetings and fundraising meetings, to tackling the highest priority challenges in the company, this role is a front-row seat to the action. After 12-24 months in this position, there is an opportunity to take on a leadership role at Spruce. In this role, organization and presentation skills are critical, as you will be facilitating the most important meetings at Spruce. The ideal candidate will have experience working in high-visibility roles and fast-paced environments, possess strong deck-building skills, and demonstrate the ability to identify, prioritize, and execute upon opportunities that align with Spruce’s broader strategy. You should be proficient in Excel and not afraid to dig into numbers. Analytics experience is not required, but you will need to ramp quickly with Looker. 

You Can Expect To

  • Prepare for and attend weekly exec meetings and quarterly board meetings
  • Facilitate Company All Hands
  • Attend key client and partnership meetings
  • Support the Series B fundraise and other M&A activities
  • Lead priority initiatives that roll up to the CEO
  • Work with C-level stakeholders to refine Spruce’s long-term strategy
  • Wear many hats! In a startup environment, you’re never limited to your role and will be encouraged to look for improvement opportunities across the business 

  • 2-4+ years of experience in an analytical role, preferably in a field such as management consulting, investment banking, or PE/venture capital
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Strong storytelling skills with an ability to communicate effectively with managers and executives
  • Comfort with ambiguity and proactively finding problems to solve
