ScaleFactor’s Director of Credit and Lending will lead the development and growth of ScaleFactor’s nascent SMB card program, launched in October 2019. This general manager will work cross-functionally with the product management, engineering, and sales and marketing organizations to build out and expand ScaleFactor’s lending business unit, turning it into a primary source of revenue for ScaleFactor

About you: 

A strategic thinker and operational leader, the Director of Credit & Lending will be responsible for the success of the card program and adding ancillary lending products to meet the needs of our customers through select partner offerings. S/he will play the driving role in defining, growing, and scaling ScaleFactor’s lending solution suite.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Manage ScaleFactor’s Credit Risk Exposure
• Serve as ScaleFactor’s Senior Credit Officer and chair the Credit Committee
• Maintain and comply with all credit policies & procedures
• Implement effective fraud and security controls 
• Own and manage relationship with lending bank, card processing, and all other lending vendors/partners
• Report on credit performance to exec team, board, and key partners
• Maintain compliance with fair lending, bank secrecy act, and compliance program obligations
• Ensure Product / Market Fit for ScaleFactor Card
• Build deep understanding of ScaleFactor customers and prospects, focusing on their existing card use, needs, benefits and rewards
• Work with marketing to highlight key differentiators for card
• Maximize spend/share of wallet from existing customers
• Define and Execute Lending roadmap
• Identify and sign agreements with lending partners to fill out lending product suite
• Create deep integrations with core ScaleFactor product and future lending products, driving higher engagement and customer benefit through use of card
• Identify and secure future program funding source(s)
• Manage ongoing relationships with lending and financing partners
• Maintain a highly engaged and high-performing cross-functional team

Success measures:

• Application volume - # of new applicants to SF card and future lending products
• Takeup rate - % of existing qualified SF customers who take up the SF card and any other lending product offerings
• Credit performance - $ loss rate
• Monthly spend - total $ spent monthly on SF card
• Share of wallet - total % of non-rent/non-payroll spend on SF card
• Customer satisfaction / NPS with SF card and any other lending products

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree, preferably in statistics, mathematics or economics
• Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in underwriting and digital lending
• Experience with small business lending
• Experience working at industry leaders, such as Capital One, American Express, HSBC
