About The Role


As Manager of Spot Market Operations, you will be responsible for building and leading a team of execution pricing analysts who model, manage, and execute the pricing on both sides of the marketplace. You will partner closely with our customer success, operations, product, and data science teams to develop pricing models and tools, and execute pricing tactics within our market. You and your team will actively monitor and be accountable for hedging against the market.

What You’ll Do


Own the overall spot-market responsibility for Shipwell, from strategy to day-to-day execution. Develop the overall spot-market pricing and work cross-functionally across customer success and carrier group stakeholders.

  • Manage our pricing execution team
  • Hire and develop an industry-leading team
  • Work closely with product, operations and sales leadership to implement new pricing and marketplace practices, tools, and models.
  • Develop and hold the team accountable to success metrics for marketplace growth

What You’ll Need

  • Technical depth combined with practical application in real-world applications.
  • Management experience with teams of 10 or more.
  • Deep expertise in pricing, markets, and supply and demand
  • A strong desire to take initiative
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum 6+ years of industry pricing experience, with proven experience leading and building teams, and delivering results
  • Experience in a high growth environment; change and ambiguity are exciting to you versus maintaining something someone else built
  • MBA or consulting background is preferred

We're fully distributed, but our HQ is located downtown Austin where plenty of trendy bars, restaurants, and shops are located within walking distance
