Forcepoint is looking for a Cloud Network Engineer to join the Cloud Operations team. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Layer 2/3 Routing and Switching technologies supporting a global Data Center footprint. This individual has hands-on experience designing, configuring and deploying low latency, self-healing, highly redundant global network infrastructure utilizing IP Transit, Metro links, DMVPN, SDN, MPLS and WAN acceleration technology sets. In addition, this Engineer has experience peering with external providers, and extending Layer 2 switching across on-prem and public cloud networks.

The candidate is well versed with DevOps and Agile methodologies and will actively participate in project scrums and sprints, as well as adhere to the incident and change management processes.

Essential Functions

Education, Experience, and Skills

• Responsible for designing, documenting, and implementing network infrastructure for both on-prem and hybrid cloud infrastructure
• Responsible for managing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and scaling Forcepoint’s storage, security, compute and autonomous system networks
• Create tooling and automation to continuously improve the monitoring, management and reliability of our network infrastructure
• Prepare low latency, highly redundant network designs for existing and new site establishments, site relocations, network upgrades/expansions, cloud environments and disaster recovery requirements
• Develop, publish, and implement technology lifecycle roadmap for network systems portfolio
• Publish and implement standards across the global network farm
• Lead development, documentation, and operationalization of system processes to enhance service delivery outcomes across the organization
• Participate in incident, change, and problem management
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network
• Drive issue resolution with Engineering and Technical Support teams
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience related to Information Technology
• 7-10 years experience as a Senior Network Engineer
• Strong experience in the design and deployment of Public Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Strong experience with Tier 1 transit providers and peering exchanges, with expertise in BGP and OSPF
• Experience with cloud scale datalink layer features including STP, VLAN tagging, and ARP
• Experience with Component and system level monitoring architectures, deployments and operations such as Data Dog, Solarwinds, ScienceLogic
• Strong layer 2 and layer 3 knowledge including but not limited to DNS, DHCP, NTP, TCP/UDP, IP protocols
• Experience with network automation (SDN, traffic shaping and QoS)
• Experience with Juniper, Arista, and Cisco network technologies
• Self-reliant and able to troubleshoot any problem
