WP Engine is looking for a technology leader to join the Digital experience team that is building world class user experiences and tools. You will lead engineering solutions, build cross-functional teams, and drive excellence within a fast-paced, high growth organization. You will work closely with business leaders to develop our external-facing web properties, delivering positive impact to our customers by empowering ecommerce, content management, and systems integrations.

The day to day.
This role is responsible for managing cross-functional teams, as well as sourcing and managing contractor and vendor relationships. You will coach teams through discovery, planning, and delivery of high impact strategic projects and campaigns, while also ensuring platform health and modernization.
You will be responsible for all architecture, engineering, and quality assurance practices within the Digital organization, helping to establish and evolve our engineering principles and practices over time. In close collaboration with web design, web strategy, and other key internal business partners, you will identify and direct solutions to top business challenges and opportunities related to the digital experience.

Your skills and expertise.

• 7+ years engineering leadership experience leading successful, cross-functional teams, and can describe how you enabled their productivity
• Excellent communication skills with business stakeholders as well as individual contributors, exhibited by humble and courageous dialog, first seeking to understand, and the ability to lead negotiations between diverse business partners
• Discerning ability to identify, prioritize, and solve critical challenges in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
• Ability to translate high level marketing ideas into actionable projects/tasks for a development team.
• Experience building, launching, and iterating on enterprise web properties.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and the workflows of automated testing and deployment.
• Understanding of marketing analytics and lead generation tools such as Server Side GTM, GA 360, Intercom, etc.
• Conceptual understanding of PHP, JavaScript, CSS, APIs, WordPress, web hosting and optimization, and other key components of executing enterprise websites built on WordPress.
• Sophisticated level experience with Jira and Confluence, or similar tools
