A day in the life of a Voucher Coordinator, HCV

 

The Voucher Coordinator applies knowledge and understanding of HCV Eligibility Determination, HUD Payment Standards, and Rent Reasonableness calculations to initial leasing workflow. Communicates in a timely and efficient manner with PHA’s, the Inspection Coordinator, and leasing team members. The Voucher Coordinator will report to the Social Work Supervisor.

 

  • Reviews prospect applications voucher documents
  • Completes Request for Tenancy Approval (RTA) and coordinates submission to PHA with a prospect
  • Communicates with the Inspection Coordinator to ensure timely coordination of initial Housing Quality Standards (HQS) Inspection WO’s
  • Coordinates deposit collection and lease execution with Branch employees
  • Coordinates negotiation of rent between Asset Management and PHA’s
  • Communicates timely and respectfully with PHA staff members throughout the leasing process
  • Tracks and reports Rent Reasonableness and Payment Standard trends to Supervisor
  • Other duties as needed or required

 

What you’ll need to have

  • High School Graduate
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to perform repetitive work in a diligent manner
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Experience interacting with Housing Authorities
  • Experience with Yardi preferred
  • Certified Voucher Specialist preferred
