Role Definition:

The Vice President and GM for our Education Services business is a highly visible leadership role in Blackbaud.  Responsible for our Education Services business, the role is multi-faceted.  It spans from sales to operational and includes financial and strategic accountabilities.  In practice, the VP& GM is the “owner” of the Education Services business within Blackbaud and leverages all of the strengths and resources of the company.  He / she is the steward of the Education Services business and is accountable for its performance through directly-reporting and matrixed staff.  The VP & GM is focused on the daily operations of the business as well as its long-term strategic position and success. 

 

Key Outcomes:

Working in a matrixed environment which leverages existing capabilities, the VP & GM will accomplish the following:

 

  • Define the organizational structure that will maximize customer and business impact while enabling scale. 

 

  • Create the business strategy that will position Education Services in the market and establish market leadership which includes product (offer) vision, the go to market strategy, market offers, pricing and operationalization of such. 

 

  • Establish market leadership and position for the market space to include the development of a strategy and corresponding pricing to entice the spectrum of the customer base.  Expand the addressable market.

 

  • Lead the team of direct and indirect employees which creates high energy and passion for the mission among the employee base.

 

  • Dramatically expand into our existing base of customers while growing annual revenues by attracting new logos and retaining the current customer base.

 

Responsibilities:

The VP & GM will drive the success of the business and be accountable for:

 

  • Strategic direction of the Education Services horizontal and market segment

 

  • Develop go-to-market strategies while partnering with Vertical Business Units to correctly position Education Services in the product continuum, drive demand generation programs and execution including offers, pricing and marketing operations. 

 

  • Deep domain expertise and industry spokesperson that is visible on the speaking circuit.

 

  • Strong partnership with Sales including talent acquisition, bookings performance, AE productivity and training, territory planning and quota setting.

 

  • Owner of the Customer experience for Education Services from pre-sale through delivery to ongoing Customer Success and retention.

 

  • Leadership of a team and coordination with Centers of Excellence to provide visionary leadership that motivates and empowers teams to produce the best outcomes for our customers.

 

  • Develop and manage Key Performance Indicators: P&L, bookings, units, customer satisfaction, net promoter score and budget planning.

 

  • Growth and operational improvement of the business.

 

 

Qualifications:  

  • 15+ Years of executive level experience leading fast-paced, hyper growth SaaS businesses
  • 15+ Years of experience bringing Software products to market
  • Proven technology based General Manager experience with P&L responsibilities, leading all aspects of Sales, Marketing, Services, Support, Customer Success, offer/services development functions
  • 10+Years of experience in the Education Services industry
  • An executive with vision who can develop the right strategy and execute to drive rapid growth.
  • Solid track record in building, developing and recruiting high- performance teams based on a large network of talent in the software industry.
  • Big thinker, growth-oriented self-starter striving to make a big impact and unwilling to accept mediocrity.
  • Experience managing in a complex, high-growth, matrixed environment.
  • Travel through North America and globally to attend industry events meet Customers and employees is expected
  • This position is based in either Austin, TX or Charleston, SC
