ForeFlight is seeking a seasoned Payroll Manager who will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of payroll processes within the organization. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive employee information. Additionally, you will collaborate with HR and Finance teams to streamline processes and implement best practices.
Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, including data entry, calculation of wages, deductions, and taxes
• Ensure timely and accurate distribution of payroll to employees via direct deposit, checks, or other payment methods
• Review and verify payroll data for accuracy, including timesheets, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation adjustments
• Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and ensure compliance in payroll processing
• Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, including quarterly and annual reports such as W-2s and 1099s
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and deductions in a timely and professional manner
• Collaborate with HR to onboard new employees into the payroll system and process changes such as promotions, transfers, and terminations
• Maintain accurate records of employee earnings, deductions, and hours worked
• Generate payroll reports and journal entries for management review and financial analysis
• Implement and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure data integrity and security
• Manage relationships with payroll service providers and software vendors, ensuring efficient and effective utilization of resources
• Lead process improvement initiatives to streamline payroll processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce errors across the organization
• Guide employees on timesheet and approval processes within our Workforce Management system
• Ad-hoc reporting
• Manage all aspects of 401K administration and audit
• Audit and review quarterly tax filings and complete reconciliations
• Participate in audits and assist with resolving any discrepancies or issues identified

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred
• Minimum of 3 years experience in payroll processing and management, preferably in a multi-state environment for company size of 250+
• In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in UKG payroll software and systems
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing a team
• Proven track record of process improvement and implementing best practices in payroll operations
