This is a 100% virtual / remote position!

 

ROLE

The product owner drives and defines the creation of saas software products. This position is responsible for coordination of agile processes and gathering requirements. This includes running sprints, writing user stories, and testing functional user stories. This role will also contribute to product direction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Aligns with product strategy for new feature development
  • Assists with sprint and resource planning
  • Schedules and runs sprint ceremonies such as standups, grooming, refinements, and sprint planning
  • Builds product backlog and conducts product grooming sessions
  • Conducts sprint demos, review, and retrospective sessions
  • Provides input into the prioritization of backlog items and focuses on priority items
  • Monitors and updates sprint stories and statuses in Jira
  • Prepares items for sprint planning and conduct sprint planning sessions
  • Ensures product standards in design, usability and quality
  • Pulls reports on sprint progress and performance
  • Works with multiple stakeholders in gathering requirements
  • Writes detailed requirements and business rules for user stories
  • Interacts with UX designers to provide input into screen design
  • Creates and validates user story acceptance criteria
  • Clarifies user stories with developer and testers
  • Does basic feature testing for stories
  • Describes business data points needed for integrations
  • Works with Jira to create and maintain new tickets, backlogs, and sprints
  • Creates release notes for software products
  • Works with clients in order to gather feedback and adjust products accordingly
  • Assists support area, testers or developers with issues as needed

RESULTS

  • Software products (UI, behavior, data, and tools) are well designed according to client requirements
  • Developers have clear requirements for developing quality software
  • Products are developed on a timely basis and with minimal defects
  • Issues are resolved in a timely manner

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience working with web and/or mobile applications
  • Experience with agile methodologies such as scrum and kanban
  • Experience in leading requirements gathering activities and scrum ceremonies
  • Experience helping to design web and/or mobile screens or wireframes with Figma or similar
  • Hands on experience with sprints & stories using Jira or similar
  • Hands on experience with querying databases is preferred
  • Experience in writing requirements involving APIs is preferred
  • Hands on experience with api testing tool such as postman or swagger is preferred
