AffiniPay is looking for an experienced Product Owner to join our emerging Product Team. As a Product Owner at AffiniPay, you will take a strong execution role in ensuring that product features are transformed into actionable deliverables.
You will own the backlog for AffiniPay’s Financial Technology platform that will be executed by the Scrum team. In addition, you will be driving out features by working with the engineering team during backlog refinement sessions to translate those features into user stories, and validating the feature before the release. Product quality and a great user experience should be core to your DNA enabling great value for customers.
Responsibilities:
- You will work with the Product Director and other senior business team members to understand the business needs and product goals.
- As the voice of the customer, you will motivate product development teams by providing clear goals and user stories,backed up with persona data.
- You will provide the product and technology teams with visibility into the product backlog and prioritization.
- You will participate in agile best practices and a culture of improvement within your scrum team
- You will be responsible for maintaining a steady flow of available work for scrum teams to consume.
- You will lead the functional quality of the product delivered by setting and evaluating expectations and acceptance criteria.
- You will be a key participant in regular standup meetings, iteration planning and iteration reviews.
- You will partner with UX to ensure we produce exceptional user experiences.
- You will partner with the Product Director on communication to Leadership, Customer Success, Support, Marketing and other team members for rollout plans, feature details and bug status updates.

What we're looking for:
- Experience with at least two roles as a Product Owner or Product Manager
- Strong knowledge of Agile development practices (especially Scrum and / or Kanban), methodologies and tools.
- Direct hands on experience with writing user stories, grooming product backlogs and coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements.
- Strong negotiation skills with aptitude to handle controversial situations, as well as influence.
- Excellent technical and non-technical communication skills.
- Highly quantitative, analytical and business-minded. Ability to solve complex problems in an organized way.
- Ability to work through ambiguity and excellent planning and organizing skills.
- High energy, can-do attitude with a willingness to take on challenging situations.
- Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products.
- Extraordinary attention to detail, including the ability to anticipate likely outcomes and assess risks
- Ability to build productive customer relationships and collaborative internal relationships.
- Experience with financial technology is a plus.
