The Inside Systems Engineer (ISE) develops and drives the technical closure of the sales process by tele-means for Poly solutions, product and service sales in support of the Inside Sales team. As a member of the engineering team the candidate must demonstrate leadership abilities in organization, planning, technical knowledge and presentation to expand Poly’s market presence of products and services. The proper candidate will have the ability to understand collaboration industry trends and impact on customer organizations and be capable of responding to changing business requirements.
Your day to day
Serve as pre-sales engineer on complex sales opportunities overlaying a number of Inside Sellers
Support sales achievement against a specified quota aligned with a subset of Inside Sellers
Support inside sales in technical discussions with end-users and partners
Engage accounts on needs assessment (discovery) and technical and solution scoping discussions
Assist with virtual online product demonstrations and technical presentations
Effectively understand and position complex Poly technologies including Realconnect Cloud Solutions, Clariti, Immersive Solutions, Soundstructure and othersEffectively position Poly products and solutions against competitive offerings
Observe opportunities to operate and sell more efficiently and support process improvements
Observe the need for and create technical content to assist the Inside Sales process Refer support issues to Poly Global Services
Refer partner training opportunities to the Poly Channel Team
What you bring to the team
You lead technical discovery discussions to ascertain and map customer needs to appropriate solution offerings.
You effectively configure and troubleshoot technology demonstrations remotely
You can explain complex technical concepts in simple terms to a diverse audience
You organize effectively and follow-up with high responsiveness to multiple customer inquiries simultaneously
Your ability and willingness to learn new collaboration technologies
Your excellent written and verbal communication skills
You engage in meaningful sales conversations with all levels from management to technical professionals
3-5 years’ technical support/sales experience in a fast-paced, high volume environment with a proven track record of successful achievement against regional quota and productivity metrics
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced networking knowledge or experience (TCP/IP, Subnetting, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, IP Routing, QOS/Diffserv)
Ability to capture and analyze network traffic (Wireshark)
Audio-Visual knowledge to include HDMI, Echo Cancellation, Audio Mixing
Strong SIP\H.323 experience (Registrar, Gatekeeping, SDP Negotiation)
VOIP telephony experience (Dial Plans, Call Admission Control, Bandwidth Management)
Strong UC experience\knowledge is preferred
Poly Technology experience
Salesforce.com or similar sales automation/forecasting tools
Bachelor’s Degree
