Job Overview

WargamingUSA is looking for an enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Senior Community Manager for our World of Tanks PC Americas Publishing Team based in Austin, TX.  The best candidates for this position will contribute an experienced perspective and active approach towards evolving the Community Management strategy of our mature product. This position will have a direct report and work alongside other senior community managers for other regions. The community team is responsible for representing the company philosophy to our players, building an effective bond with regular interaction and engagement, the candidate for this role should have strong people skills.

Head of Community.

What will you do?

  • Proactively contribute to discussions with NA player communities across our community platforms.

  • Collaborate with other regional offices to support game updates, in-game events, tournaments, business partnerships, and other activities.

  • Contribute to the definition and execution of our regional community and social media strategies

  • Organize and support regional activities for community contributors, volunteers, and another player

  • Provide analytics related to performance of community projects and programs, as well as track the health and behavior of the NA player base in general.

  • Explore and execute collaboration opportunities with influencers, fan-organized communities, the military, museums, and other potential partners.

  • Contribute to the organization and execution of online and offline events player gatherings, and other opportunities.

  • Support the competitive team with organization and execution of competitive events.

What are we looking for?

  • Senior Level Community Professional. You have 5+ years of professional experience developing and actively contributing to online communities. You are well-versed in proven Community Building strategies.

  • Communications Skills. You can effectively communicate in English with diverse audiences in any format and in any medium, while being aware about local context and sensitivities. You must be a proficient writer capable of professional and concise copy.

  • You lead others by example, engage in time critical problem solving, when necessary, give honest and constructive feedback. Ensure the correct execution of overall publishing strategy for the game.

  • You take pride in maintaining and developing the skills essential to your position and are willing to assume responsibility for tasks large and small necessary to accomplish your goals. You seek to build your coworkers up and trust they will do the same for you.

  • US work authorization. While the team is currently remote this position will require you to work in Austin, Texas and be authorized to do so.

  • Publishing Experience: You must be familiar with the Game Publishing industry and its structure and processes. This includes experience with collaborative tools such as JIRA, Asana, or other similar products.

  • Streaming/Video Experience: You have experience in running and growing a successful video or streaming channel, be it personal or professional.

  • This role will require a level of flexibility, for events which may require working on weekends or outside normal office hours.

Preferred:

  • Product Expertise. You are an active player of World of Tanks, can provide game-related feedback, can participate in nuanced game discussions. If not, you are prepared and equipped to put in the work to reach this point.

  • You are capable of remaining calm and thoughtful in fast-paced high-pressure environments, sticking to strategy when it remains effective and willing to change it on the fly if necessary, when it doesn’t.

  • Analytical Skills. You’re able to back up your opinions not only with anecdotal evidence and gut feeling, but also with hard data and statistical analysis.

  • Passion for Gaming. You love video games and understand people who do.

  • Hardware Skills: You have the technical knowledge you possess to troubleshoot and operate a gaming PC, streaming setup, audio, and video recording setups.

  • Management Experience. You are comfortable taking a leadership position and organizing a small team to effectively execute a plan of your own or other’s design.

  • E-Sports/Competitive Gaming Casting Experience. Experience or knowledge of competitive gaming and any competitive administrative tools.
