Austin, Texas, just held its annual citywide day of giving, and the city’s tech companies were among the cause’s biggest contributing donors. The eighth annual Amplify Austin Day, organized by charitable organization I Live Here I Give Here, was held Friday. This year, the fund was able to raise $12.3 million.

The organization partnered with dozens of local businesses to raise the funds benefiting local nonprofits. Semiconductor supplier Cirrus Logic topped the Amplify Austin Day leaderboard by raising over $295,000 for the cause. Other Austin tech companies like Silicon Labs, Enverus, SolarWinds, VRBO and Indeed made it to the top 10 by raising tens of thousands of dollars for the cause.

Some of these companies encouraged their employees to donate money, and then doubled their impact by matching their own matching donations.

Almost 29,000 individual donors gave during the event, and their donations were distributed across 760 nonprofits. The organization that got the biggest check was the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area, which brought in over half a million dollars. Other nonprofits include Hospice Austin, YMCA of Austin, Central Texas Food Bank and many more.

“Today, I am especially proud to call Central Texas home,” ILHIGH executive director Courtney Manuel said in a statement to Patch. “Once again, our community met the ambitious Amplify Austin Day challenge. I will never underestimate the power of collective giving around a common cause. Today’s success exemplifies that impact.”

Amplify Austin Day has raised over $69 million over its eight-year history, with this year marking its biggest year to date.
