The freight brokerage just announced its latest investment from names including ATL Partners, the Baupost Group and Temasek to launch new offerings beyond full-truckload services. RapidDeploy raised $29M. With an abundance of emergency calls every year, this startup is looking to make call centers more efficient with the help of data and analytics. RapidDeploy closed on a Series B round led by Morpheus Ventures to invest in R&D and go-to-market improvements like new product features and integrations. It’s also hiring new talent. Austin Tech Quote of the Week
KindHealth is doubling its engineering team. This startup is aiming to simplify the insurance buying process with its platform that uses AI to suggest suitable plans for customers. In working to improve its tech, KindHealth plans to double its headcount of 32 this year across engineering, product, design, marketing, carrier relations and RevOps. [Built In Austin]
Apple’s new Austin office is nearly complete. Construction for the tech giant’s 133-acre campus in North Austin is almost done, and the company expects to move 5,000 employees into it by next year. The new location will create an abundance of jobs in engineering, R&D, operations, finance, sales and customer support. [KXAN]
Galvanize teams up with Austin Urban Technology Movement. The goal of the partnership is to increase diversity in Austin’s tech scene. AUTM works to provide Black and Hispanic communities with tech industry resources and opportunities.
