Austin continues to gain attention for being a tech hub that keeps on growing. Last week, Cart.com announced it would move to Silicon Hills, and several other local tech companies raised venture capital. Keep reading to find out more. This is the Built In Austin weekly refresh.

UNION gained $22M. Union is looking to save the restaurant industry after closing a $22 million Series B funding round. The company’s platform combines a POS system and contactless order and payment with data to automate customer loyalty. The company plans to hire an additional 50 employees as it expands to every major metro area in the U.S. [Built In Austin]

Cart.com moved to Austin. Cart.com moved its headquarters from Houston to Austin, specifically at the corner of Brazos and Sixth street. Cart.com has developed an end-to-end e-commerce platform and plans to grow its headcount significantly by the first quarter of 2022. Aifleet raised $21M. Aifleet aims to optimize truckers’ workflow using AI. The company raised $21 million, bringing its total raised to $24 million since it launched last summer. PPLSI acquired yourself.online. PPLSI is the parent company of security platforms LegalShield and IDShield. PPLSI acquired Austin-based yourself.online, an AI-based system that protects users social media and online accounts. The acquisition will allow the companies to continue their mission to protect people’s privacy online. [Email]

Spruce got a new VP of finance. Spruce appointed Jack Cartwright as VP of finance. Spruce is a proptech company that provides lifestyle services in the multifamily industry, ranging from pet care, housekeeping and cleaning services. [Built In Austin]
