TAU Systems beamed in $15M. TAU System is developing smaller, more affordable particle accelerators to make X-ray free-electron lasers (XFEL) more accessible to researchers. XFEL technology is used to perform molecular or atomic analysis in the fields of biotech, chemistry or materials science. This seed funding will be used to develop an industrial prototype. 4M Analytics announced a new Austin headquarters. 4M Analytics will relocate its headquarters from Israel to Austin, where it recently opened an office with five employees. The company, which also raised a $30 million Series A extension in September, is creating a digital map of Texas’ underground utilities so engineers do not have to survey locations manually. [Email]

CertifID launched PayoffProtect. CertifID is a cybersecurity startup that is working to prevent wire fraud in real estate transactions. Last week, the company introduced a new product, PayoffProtect, which prevents title companies from sending mortgage loan payoffs to imposters. Kazoo + WorkTango rebranded to WorkTango. Toronto-based HRtech startup WorkTango briefly rebranded to Kazoo+WorkTango after it was acquired by Austin-based Kazoo in April.
