Austin-based RapidDeploy provides first responders with crucial data when responding to emergency calls or during public safety events. The company was founded in 2013 and recently secured $34 million in fresh funding.

Edison Partners led the round with participation from previous RapidDeploy investors. With the new capital, RapidDeploy plans to accelerate its go-to-market strategies and continue building on its recent success, including a partnership with General Motors for its OnStar platform.

“With this investment we’ll be able to further our mission of saving lives by reducing response times,” Steve Raucher, CEO and co-founder of RapidDeploy, said in a statement.

RapidDeploy helps first responders find people in emergency situations by providing tech that geolocates callers after they contact emergency services. According to RapidDeploy’s website, its Radius Mapping tool can also improve communication between callers and responders by enabling two-way text between the parties. Its other platform, Eclipse Analytics, collects data from emergency responses and allows responders to review the data and adapt their strategies for better outcomes.

“First responders should have access to configurable solutions that tap into all available data streams and communications methods in an easy-to-digest single pane of glass. RapidDeploy’s Radius Mapping and Eclipse Analytics product adoption provides strong validation that they are the solution of choice,” Daniel Herscovici, a partner with Edison Partners, said in a statement.

RapidDeploy’s platform has expanded to over 10 states and is used in over 1,500 emergency call centers. With the recent funding, the company will expand into more centers.
