TheZebra.com, a platform for comparing and buying auto and home insurance, has brought on Daniel Herrington to serve as its new chief AI officer and enable a modernized and simplified insurance shopping experience.
Herrington’s resume features over a decade of experience in AI product development. He held senior roles at Google, Vroom, Capital One and Priceline, and he worked on the infrastructure for training and serving the Gemini models while leading Google’s CoreML team.
In his new role, Herrington will be responsible for spearheading engagement with leading AI labs and guiding the Austin-based insurtech company’s use of AI for developer experience, customer empowerment and advisor enablement. His growing team is expected to implement and optimize AI tooling systems to support improvements across the company’s engineering, product development, marketing, finance and legal functions. Under Herrinton’s leadership, AI technology will also be used to innovate the way consumers search for insurance options and to develop tools for matching them with the right coverage.
