Design and develop and modify/maintain ETL processes that load data for the data warehouse using ETL tools (transitioning from SSIS to Azure integration technologies) and SQL code.  Provide performance and scale tuning in selected technology stacks for ETL, data querying, and information management platforms.  Implement traditional data warehouse schema and star schema data models.  Collaborate with data engineering in the creation of reusable components as they relate to the Azure data management frameworks . Collaborate with analytics teams to design reports and reporting portals, supporting subscriptions, enabling advanced filtering for ad hoc querying, and performance tuning.  Collaborate with and mentor analytics and business unit “citizen developers” on reporting and business process automation solutions, including SharePoint.

Collaborate directly with product managers, UX researchers, and designers to define and implement solutions for our digital properties. Lead and contribute to the design, development and implement systems, full-stack applications and/or websites related to the healthcare insurance industry. Lead and contribute to all aspects of the product stack. Lead and build the development of integrations with outside/third-party systems as needed. Collaborate with teammates on technical design, work estimation, and implementation of new features. Stay on top of bug and task management using JIRA or similar. Lead and contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's productivity, culture, and code quality. Review team member's code to identify and remediate bugs quickly. Create documentation and processes for teaching or lead learning sessions with other engineers as needed. Act as a knowledge base for other engineers. Mentor engineers at all levels of their careers to improve skills, code quality, and best practices. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Evaluate and build proofs of concept for Cloud PaaS and IaaS offerings for data liquidity, data management and storage, data pipelines built on both traditional ETL as well as streaming platforms, master data management, data stewardship, record-linkage, NLP services, and more. Write traditional code and server-less functions using the right language for the task, which may be SQL, Python, C#, Java, PowerShell, SSIS/BIML, and others. Participate in build-buy-open source decisions for parsing and managing industry standard formats such as FHIR/NDJSON, pipe-and-hat HL7, and x12 EDI. Evaluate, select, and apply Cloud and OO design and resiliency patterns. Build APIs and data microservices to share our data with internal and external partners, and write interfaces to public data sets to enrich our analytics data stores. Provide subject matter expertise on performance tuning and query optimization to full-stack peers, data analysts, and EDW developers . Participate in building and owning a DevOps culture. Continuously document your code, framework standards, and team processes.

The overarching objective of the platform is to make all data at Bright consistent, compliant and available at high velocity to all functional areas within the company and to our Care Partners outside the company.
