“The world moves fast, and the window of opportunity may not exist if we strive for perfection,” Amin said. He applies this philosophy to his team’s engineering work, which involves continuously testing out ideas and embracing a “failing fast” mentality. According to Amin, “craftsmanship is the core of engineering,” which is why his team never cuts corners in terms of the quality of their code.

Redefine the user experience to spark change

Adiaheno knows the importance of understanding the user journey, which he said is central to his team’s latest project: the DocSquad app. In order to create new features for the app, he and his peers use FigJam to sketch ideas and think through user flows before working on higher fidelity mockups on a Figma file. Once complete, Adiaheno said DocSquad will make the ins and outs of healthcare as simple as ordering a ride via Uber.
