Designs and develops medium- and low-voltage switchgear, including bills of material, electrical drawings, one-lines, three-lines, and control schemes. Reviews customer specifications, coordinates with project management and production, supports multiple projects, troubleshoots technical issues, and provides engineering assistance. Applies power-system, relay, NEC, ANSI/IEEE, safety, and cost-competitive design principles while supporting shop, customer, sales, and inspection teams.

Designs custom low- and medium-voltage switchgear, motor control systems, schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical construction drawings. Leads projects from concept through manufacturing, validates bills of materials, reviews designs, coordinates with clients, suppliers, purchasing, project management, and mechanical engineering teams, and provides technical support. The role also mentors junior engineers, troubleshoots production issues, interprets specifications, and ensures designs meet budget, schedule, quality, safety, and applicable code requirements.

The role requires managing sales growth through electrical distribution, developing new business opportunities, maintaining client relationships, and delivering presentations on Powell's products and services.
