Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Business Analyst to join our Operations and Systems team. A bridge between the Systems and Business teams, this integral position develops, documents, and implements processes for the deployment of agency-wide Finance, IT, and BI enterprise systems. 

Responsibilities

  • Gather, discuss and assess business requirements and system needs with internal stakeholders, including business leads and technical leads.

  • Develop and document processes, creating workflows and building out system requirements and functional specifications for new application development as well as system integrations.

  • Create, document, and maintain process workflow diagrams and descriptions, user guides, reference manuals, and training materials.

  • Manage risk identification, risk assessment, and risk mitigation strategy planning.

  • Work with external vendors and internal teams, including IT, Finance, Developers, etc.

  • Provide timely communication and status updates to internal teams, business leads, and vendors—tailoring language to a variety of audiences, ranging from very technical to non-technical.

  • Maintain up-to-date status of all project deliverables.

  • Partner with the Project Manager and business stakeholders to create a synergistic team approach.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, IT, Finance, or related field. 

  • Understand business system applications and interfaces, with ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

  • Working knowledge of workflow and project management tools.

  • Knowledge of Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes a plus. 

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, able to tailor communications to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

  • 3+ years of Business Analyst experience on a systems team essential.

  • Experience with enterprise systems necessary.

  • Demonstrated experience outlining workflows and processes, pulling together documentation and materials.

  • Experience working with software development teams—both inhouse and external.

  • Demonstrated track record of managing projects from conception through completion.

  • Experience in global organization with multiple locations essential.
