Your Opportunity
We are seeking an user experience designer who understands and can empathize with end to end customer journey. The position will be addressing Rapid7s’ most challenging business problems and opportunities in relation to delivering value to our customers in the form of connecting various products and disciplines utilizing our insight platform.
The candidate will be working with leadership to establish a shared vision by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams with be key in order to drive the strategy.
The position requires a strong design thinker and leader as well as competencies in visual analytics, data curation, usability. The successful candidate should being comfortable with numbers, formulas and advanced analytics concepts. A solid understanding of the enterprise business domain is required

Responsibilities
- Defining product goals, and core user-needs leveraging design thinking concepts.
- Collaborate with leads on new product development initiatives through building effective business cases that identify business value and recommend metrics to measure success at the product level.
- Plan and execute research to develop a solid understanding of users, translating into personas, user stories and story maps.
- Deliver superb experiences that will deliver on the user and business needs
- Work closely with business stakeholders to identify, clearly articulate, and prioritize scope and requirements and manage expectations.
Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience working in a firm where product/service strategies and innovation were a significant percentage of your time and focus.
- Bachelor's degree in HCI, or visual design, or psychology a plus.
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with applying Design Thinking methodologies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and comfortable presenting (and interacting with) everyone from entry-level employees to vice presidents.
- Collaborative working style, willingness to flex roles and responsibilities when needed to support larger team goals and outcomes.
- Can demonstrate proficiency in prototyping tools like Sketch, invision and other Adobe tools
