HomeAway is looking a Senior Software Engineer to play a key role engineering and building out solutions and tools that enable our global Sales and Customer Experience teams to support millions of vacation rental owners and traveler customers across HomeAway platform. We are looking for an adaptable, high performing, motivated and self-reliant Software Engineer with a proven track record developing leading edge web applications in a cloud architecture, leveraging hundreds of separate services and applications, with a highly adaptable web layer using the latest technologies. 

Challenges you can work on:

• Build reuseable component based web UI architectures with modern JavaScript libraries (React.JS)
• Develop features relying on event-driven, microservices, and data science programming models.
• Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code
• Optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers
• Build RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience delivering consumer-facing web applications
• Experience collaborating on a cross-functional team including product management, architects, and UI Designers
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
• Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
• Experience with popular React.js workflows (Redux)
• Familiarity with newer specifications of EcmaScript
• Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
• Familiarity with Node.js for server-side application development
• Experience with Node.js web application frameworks, preferably Express
• Skilled in building RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with code versioning tools (Git)
