Opcity’s network of providers, technology platform, and toolkit allow Opcity to be the primary concierge for the consumer during the home buying/selling experience.
Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, the Director of Human Resources is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides comprehensive HR leadership to the organization. This role will provide strategic guidance and coaching to key executive business leaders to help build Opcity’s people and leadership capabilities and achieve our growth plans and business objectives. The Director will also lead a small team of HR Generalists and administrative staff in our mission to provide best in class HR programs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
● Provide superior strategic, tactical, and operational HR solutions focused on achieving business objectives.
● Build and nurture solid relationships with organization’s leaders by demonstrating an understanding of business strategies and challenges. Identify where human resources strategies can be leveraged.
● Ensure alignment between individual, department and corporate practices.
● Review current HR practices/procedures and implement new processes and best practices where appropriate.
● Identify and monitor the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the company's goals and promotes employee satisfaction.
● Partner with Director of Recruiting to ensure an effective strategy and programs are in place to meet the talent needs of the organization.
● Direct the day to day implementation of the company's benefit plans, included but not limited to health and welfare benefits, retirement benefits, wellness programs, and time off plans.
● Make recommendations, implement and administer competitive pay and incentive compensation programs; including the counseling of management on pay decisions, compensation practices, and policy and guideline interpretation.
● Develop performance review strategy and training to ensure that constructive and actionable feedback is delivered to all levels of employees to improve overall performance and encourage a growth mindset.
● Provide internal expertise and guidance concerning employee relations issues and matters, ensuring that human resources policies and best practices of human resources management are adhered to.
● Oversee the design, development and administration of the HRIS system. Ensure data accuracy is maintained.
● Successfully prepare for and navigate change within the organization in order to drive organizational success and outcomes.
● Partner with Head of Culture to create programs, tools, and experiences that engage our team and encourage a positive culture.
● Collaborate with the Learning and Development department to build and enhance learning programs to ensure that employees are continually developing and growing.
● Assure that managers are trained in and kept informed of human resources policies and procedures and pertinent labor laws and practices and primary responsibility for HR Compliance program.
● Track business unit performance strategies and metrics to maximize employees potential and continual understanding of goals and objectives. Analyze and provide summaries on trends to leadership.
● Maintain a high level of morale and productivity within the HR team. Ensure all HR team members lead by example in accordance with the Company’s vision, mission, values, and competencies.
● Provide direction, mentoring, coaching, and counselling to direct reports.
● Provide expertise and assistance to employee coaching, counseling and disciplinary processes as needed.
● Work on special projects and change efforts assigned by the Head of People Operations and Culture.
What We Like To See / Measures of Success:
● Bachelor’s degree in a Business, Human Resources, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
● Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible HR experience with at least 5 in a management or leadership role of HR Business Partners.
● SPHR Certification or SHRM-SCP highly valued.
● Excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, self-confidence, and a high sense of urgency.
● The highest degree of discretion and integrity.
● Ability to drive and support organizational change.
● Demonstrated ability to develop effective plans for execution of overall strategy in a rapidly changing environment.
● Proven ability to build strong and lasting working relationships and partnerships.
● Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, HR platforms and tools, and a high technical aptitude.
● Thorough understanding of recruitment, talent management and succession processes and tools.
● Strong business acumen.
Working Conditions
● Hours may vary as many shifts begin at 7am and end at 11pm. Weekends are also possible as we are operate seven days a week.
● Position requires prolonged standing or sitting and repetitive hand and wrist motion.
● Operates phones, computers, fax machines, copiers, and other office equipment.
