Diversity Equity & Inclusion Strategist
Q2 is seeking an exceptional candidate to build our Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DEI) program, crafting a framework from which to advance I&D, including the strategic plan, standards, and associated policies. Your understanding of the organization’s direction and business planning objectives is critical in order to successfully personify the company’s identity as an employer of choice. You will define and implement programs meant to create equity across diverse populations with data analysis, creation of tools, resources and routines to bring programs to life. As a consultative solution partner to senior business and HR leaders, you will serve as a change agent in designing, developing and deploying key programs. Your contributions will be critical and integral to leading and organizing broad cross-functional efforts in alignment with our company’s mission of building stronger and more diverse communities by strengthening their financial institutions.
You will share your expertise on enhancing results in diversity, equity, and inclusion, and collaborate with senior leaders to orchestrate these efforts both internally and beyond Q2’s population. By establishing relationships with relevant professional associations and organizations, you’ll promote the organization’s DEI efforts. You will be continually evaluating, identifying, analyzing, and communicating DEI trends, issues, and opportunities to the organization, all while understanding business implications and impacts to people and the organization. Your relationships with business leaders and subject matter experts across the organization will allow you to build allies, source opportunities for collaboration and drive DEI initiatives. Your experience and strength at leading cross-functional teams to achieve results is one of the key ways you will achieve the organization’s DEI goals and your strategic plan.
Success will require bringing to life a comprehensive strategic design, and measuring the timelines, milestones, delivery, and success of those plans. Your ability to influence, facilitate, communicate and collaborate will be essential to the role.
To further grow the organizational DEI climate, collaboration will be essential to this role’s success. You must actively engage as a cross-functional partner with important links across teams including, but not limited to, the following:
- L&D: Assess, develop, deliver or ensure delivery of appropriate, learning solutions (e-learning, workshops, conversations, learning
opportunities, etc.). Recommend and monitor metrics that measure learning effectiveness and return on investment.
- Talent Management and Acquisition: Influence workforce development and succession planning processes informing the construction of progressive recruitment, development, and retention programs. Partner with TA to implement sourcing and attraction strategies from underrepresented groups to develop greater diversity in talent pipelines.
- Culture and Community Giving: Connect strategic philanthropy and community support. Design and develop new diversity/affinity groups with both leadership and operational support.
- Finance: Support Q2’s focus on diversification of suppliers and procurement processes.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- 10+ years of experience, with at least 5 years in a strategic + operational I&D position supporting senior executives
- 8+ years of recent experience managing DEI programs, ideally with a global company
- Experience in a strategic HR role with an executive-level interface and a high degree of executive influence
- Relationships with learning and community institutions needed to build success in this role
- Strong acumen with diversity concepts with proven and demonstrated track record of leading corporate global diversity and inclusion-related initiatives and programs
- Collaborative with a natural orientation towards community building
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Deadline focused, organized and able to prioritize multiple projects
- Expert presentation and training facilitation skills, both in-person and virtual
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to influence a broad group of stakeholders, partners and senior leaders – without reporting authority
- Exceptional consulting, negotiation and coaching skills for all levels within the organization; as well as demonstrated successful experience at multiple levels of an organization
- Be proactively curious - investigate best practices, trends and innovations; use the knowledge to help shape our annual plan and priorities. Understands impact of emerging learning trends and their implications for and its customers
- Proven problem solving and decision-making abilities, as well as strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently with solutions-focused approach; demonstrated personal drive and sense of urgency, pushing self and others for results; “hands on” approach and an independent thinker with strong organizational skills, customer focus and orientation.
- Strong business acumen and knowledge of MS Office Suite, navigation of HCM systems, ability to leverage technology to deliver results critical for success
