As Commercial & Technology Counsel you will provide important legal support to the company and its operations. Your responsibilities will be varied and include reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of agreements.

You will have the opportunity to advise the company on cutting-edge legal issues relating to internet privacy, cybersecurity, compliance, and software as a service (“SaaS”). You will collaborate with internal clients throughout the company, as well as other Legal Team members.
THE DAY TO DAY- Negotiate, structure, and manage numerous types of commercial agreements including business development and sales-related agreements, licensing, confidentiality, and partnership agreements.
- Collaborate with legal team members to monitor and improve the company’s contracting practices and procedures.
- Provide legal advice, guidance, and support to the company on existing customer matters, including intellectual property disputes and DMCA compliance.
- Provide practical, decisive guidance to Sales, Business Development and Product teams, balancing business objectives and legal risk.
- Draft terms of service and template agreements for new and existing products.
- Create training materials and establish compliance procedures, playbooks and documentation.
- Act as subject-matter expert for legal matters relating to data privacy and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure consistency of contract terms with company policies and goals.
- State bar member in good standing.
- 3-7 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or in-house.
- Knowledge of general commercial law, technology licensing, intellectual property, and privacy law principles.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Experience developing and managing policies and procedures regarding contracts and commercial relationships, including development of appropriate form documents and clauses.
- A strong client service focus and the ability to efficiently prioritize workflow and manage multidimensional projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of how to balance legal risk with business objectives and successfully get deals closed.
- Proactive and comfortable making decisions with ambiguity.
