Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Director/Group Director, Corporate and Executive Communications to join our growing team. This critical role will build the reputation and relevance of Real Chemistry as a global health innovation company. They will partner with the CEO to build a thought leadership platform, drive execution of media, social and paid opportunities, create connection with employees, and measure impact. In addition, this leader will ensure audiences understand Real Chemistry’s mission, business strategy, and impact in the healthcare space. They will partner with others to build media relationships with key journalists and publications and build Real Chemistry’s narrative as a growing, innovative company. They will be an incredible storyteller and writer, able to think strategically while managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects with a proactive approach to solving problems and can-do attitude.

 

The Senior Director/Group Director, Corporate and Executive Communications will understand business and industry issues at the highest level and be able to interpret the CEO’s perspective into compelling content, newsworthy POVs and creative approaches, building his reputation as a leading healthcare business innovator and helping to raise the visibility and understanding of Real Chemistry. This role will partner closely with others, including the CEO Team and the Chief of Staff Team, to identify and drive storytelling opportunities and build key business media relationships over time. They will be able to connect the dots across a wide variety of topics and issues. 

The start date for this role is January 2022.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute media relations activities. Identify and build stories to support Real Chemistry's business goals, culture and growth plans.

  • Drive creation of compelling content to inform audiences and inspire them to act.

  • Create and manage high impact, integrated communications strategies from traditional to online and social, to boost reputation and relevance.

  • Develop and execute annual thought leadership plan for CEO – to raise his visibility and that of Real Chemistry.

  • Partner with CEO, the CEO Team, and the Chief of Staff Team and executive leadership to develop timely POVs and content to drive impact with stakeholders, clients and employees.

  • Proactively anticipate trends, news and new engagement mechanisms (i.e., Clubhouse) finding ways to creatively showcase innovation.

  • Partner across the communications and marketing teams to bring the right mix of strategies and tactics to the right audiences.

  • Advise on communications strategies and issues management.

  • Proactively plan for and react if needed to crisis and issues management.

  • Recommend and lead appropriate research and analytic initiatives to support objectives. 

  • Travel required as necessary.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Healthcare experience and understanding of changes happening in the industry.

  • Proven experience working collaboratively with CEOs and senior executives.

  • Comfortable – and successful – working in a fast-paced, fluid environment.

  • Ability to push boundaries, drive to impact and wrangle ideas to outcomes.

  • Ability to take concepts and turn them into actionable steps and execute to precision.

  • Familiarity with social media, digital, video, visual, and collaboration sharing platforms.

  • Ability to translate key strategic business or financial issues into messaging that resonates.

  • Stellar written and verbal communications skills and ability to distill complex technology, healthcare and business information into clear, concise messaging.

  • Proven ability to think ahead, engage proactively and take initiative.

  • Willingness to roll-up sleeves and get the job done, no matter how big or small.

  • Collaborative, enthusiastic, and positive outlook.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading corporate and executive communications.
