We are looking for an organized and results-focused PR Specialist to join the U.S. public relations team.
This individual will support consumer and corporate PR initiatives and produce compelling data-driven stories that position Vrbo as a leader in family travel.
Who You Are:
Excellent at analyzing complex data sets, identifying newsworthy trends and story ideas, and providing guidance to inform the team’s editorial direction and news calendar
Naturally curious and interested in conducting 3rd-party research, uncovering societal, cultural and - of course - travel trends!
Able to distill what insights will build and strengthen the Vrbo brand
Help develop PR strategies, plans and materials; and be able to quickly learn and understand the company and its products, and run multiple projects under tight deadlines
What You Will Do:
Collaborate in a fast-paced environment with the global communications team, external PR agency, and cross-functional marketing departments to plan and execute highly visible campaigns.
Analyze Vrbo’s internal data for pitches, PR projects and campaigns, industry research reports, and thought leadership content.
Work closely with said PR agency to manage the monitoring, tracking, and reporting of Vrbo’s earned media coverage.
Produce and deliver comprehensive reports and presentations displaying PR results for internal stakeholders.
Develop a variety of written materials, including news releases, messaging and talking points, and PR plans that drive marketing and business objectives.
Build and nurture relationships with media to continuously get Vrbo in the headlines; secure coverage results ranging from corporate announcements to seasonal travel tips
Support team operations and administrative tasks
What You Bring:
3-5 years experience in public relations, journalism, or communications in a corporate, agency, or newsroom environment
Consumer, tech, travel or lifestyle experience a plus
Experience and proficiency using Excel and PowerPoint
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; proficient in AP style
Ability to prioritize and run projects for multiple stakeholders
Proficiency using monitoring and measurement tools such as Meltwater, Cision, Critical Mention, etc.
Proven success pitching media and securing earned press coverage
Analytical, inquisitive and data-driven mindset; ability to develop and continuously try and test new ideas
