COVID 19 UPDATE: 

We have leaned into the current health crisis with the development of new features like Volusion Curbside. Since March, we have hired more than a dozen new Volusioneers with no signs of slowing down. We are actively interviewing for key roles in order to keep up with our product roadmap goals. The rundown:

We are seeking a dynamic leader who loves to win and wants to own every aspect of our customers’ interactions with our products and services. You’ll need to drive your team to accomplish great things, quickly pivot and attack new problems, and still find time to follow-up and follow-through.

You will: 

  • Develop a cohesive user experience strategy for all aspects of Volusion, from visits to the website through use of our ecommerce platform: Great content is only a part of a world-class user experience. You will work directly with our CTO to develop the overall UX approach for our online properties and product offerings. You will routinely evolve, communicate, present, and execute against this strategy.
  • Execute the UX vision and deliver business value: We plan and then we execute–and we iterate quickly. We are committed to a fast-paced cycle of learn, design, and implement. We do not sacrifice quality but we are results-driven, and your results are the experience our prospective and existing customers have with our products and services.
  • Level up and grow a user experience organization: We are committed to user experience becoming a first class citizen at Volusion. You will work with existing designers, videographers, authors, and managers to grow them into usability experts as well as add to this team with new members.
  • Build out a cohesive set of assets for multiple audiences: Our customers, merchants, developer community, and integrators all have different content needs. Expand out library with white papers, case studies, instructional videos, resource center articles, and email content, all with purpose and clear connection to our products.
  • Get your hands dirty and lead by example: Our managers and directors are also contributors! We believe that the best leaders are those who have their hands in our products. You will create content with your team, in a variety of media. 

We are looking for someone with:

  • 8+ years of demonstrable experience in user interface and usability, design, and media services
  • 5+ years of leading user experience and creative teams in an Agile environment, including personal ongoing contributions
  • 3+ years of managing direct reports (4 or more )
  • 5+ years of experience in web-based usability and design (SaaS a significant bonus)
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, project management, and delegation skills
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Information Design or Architecture, Graphic Design, Visual Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent, with a discipline or special interest in practicum over pure theory
