  • Xeek is an open community that brings together the best talent in data science, software development, and geoscience to develop game-changing solutions to analyze and drive actionable insight from energy data. 
  • XCover provides a ready-to-go cloud-based exploration solution that enables global talent to propose and engage in exploration projects from anywhere, any time. 
  • SixLab is a no-strings attached global startup incubator offering state-of-the-art facilities, resources, and corporate access to leading early-stage exploration and energy startups.

Job Description: 

We are looking for an exceptional Program Director who will lead the SixLab program, working with startups and managing their end-to-end experience in our incubator. This person will own the journey of a startup, from sourcing through graduation, and transitioning them into and out of our portfolio. You’ll be the epicenter of our program including managing our partnerships with our advisors, mentors, volunteers, and global ecosystem. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Offering Management
  • Lead, manage, and constantly improve SixLab’s incubator program
  • Mentor entrepreneurs and connect them to the right people and resources in our community.
  • Collaborate with the Studio X Office Manager and build out the team support functions as needed
  • Produce networking events, quarterly showcases, and informal speaker series
  • Support and collaborate with the Studio X CEO and Leadership Team and other Studio X team members on ad hoc projects as needed
  • Assist in planning growth of SixLab operations globally
  • Sourcing
  • Source promising early-stage companies, read and evaluate applications and pitch decks, conduct interviews with entrepreneurs, analyze ventures, make investment recommendations, conduct and manage the due diligence, and lead the approval process
  • Portfolio Management
  • Manage, mentor, and connect with SixLab’s portfolio of ventures 
  • Collect, monitor, synthesize, and communicate the progress, performance, and needs of portfolio companies
  • Thought-Leadership
  • Develop thought leadership by synthesizing deal flow data and trends, staying on top of industry news and research, conducting interviews with experts and industry leaders, and sharing insights via a professional social media presence
  • Ecosystem Development
  • Proactively grow SixLab’s ecosystem of entrepreneurs, mentors, investors, and partners by networking, attending events, researching experts, and generally building good karma by helping others in the ecosystem

What You’ll Bring:

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years experience in program management or operations, responsible for strategic planning and also day-to-day execution -- proven experience rolling up your sleeves and getting hands dirty
  • Highly-desirable to have a strong and established startup-based professional network 
  • Experience working on small, collaborative, scrappy teams in a fast-moving environment
  • Experience coaching and mentoring startups
  • Must be able to source and evaluate early stage startup opportunities 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including making and giving presentations and interacting with key stakeholders such as entrepreneurs and  investors
  • Intrinsically motivated to help and coach others
  • Creative problem-solver with entrepreneurial drive and comfort with ambiguity
  • Experience as an early-stage investor, founder, analyst or early startup employee a plus
  • Familiarity with upstream oil and gas and energy exploration a plus
  • Experience working in the energy sector and/or knowledge of the startup landscape in energy a plus
  • Experience writing investment memos and/or interacting with Fortune 500 C-level execs a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) as well as common cloud-based collaboration tools (i.e. Slack, G-Suite)

Education 

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Relevant masters degree, such as an MBA, is a plus

Time Commitment / Travel Requirements

  • Full-time 
  • Startup hours, which includes some nights/weekends
  • 20-40% travel
