WP Engine continues to grow rapidly and our IT team has a meaningful role to play in helping the business scale! WP Engine's IT infrastructure is almost entirely off-premise, so it's all about fanatical support and guiding the team to focus on the right priorities for the business every day. The team has a stellar reputation and we are looking for creative leadership to take the team to the next level. This role is highly multifaceted and takes on all aspects of IT, from hands-on support, to process development, to strategic decision-making, and managing a $5M budget.

The day to day.Supporting your team and the company:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing, international (U.S. and Ireland) team of systems administrators, infrastructure administrators, and support personnel.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the company by communicating clearly and regularly, and ensuring the IT function consistently executes on committed deliverables.
  • Provide the strategic vision for new and supported systems by creating roadmaps in partnership with internal customers and IT leadership.
  • Provide technical oversight and management of systems including Productivity Suite (Google Workspace), Identity (Okta), Endpoint management (Jamf), Network (Cisco Meraki), Chat (Slack), and Collaboration (Zoom).
  • Build a good technical culture around our systems that emphasizes availability, resilience, technical excellence, security (in collaboration with our Security team), and frictionless user experiences
  • Find opportunities for system optimization, redesign, or process improvement, including change and incident management.
  • Provide support ticket and/or system engineering support across systems as needed.
  • Excellent, frequent communications including upward to management, down to the team, and outward to the company.

Your skills and expertise.Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of IT experience
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • 3+ years of budget management ($1M+) and vendor management experience
  • Experience managing a Mac-centric environment.
  • Experience balancing contending project constraints including scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources, and risks in order to accommodate the needs of each internal customer
  • Expertise with at least 3 of the following systems/applications: Google Workspace (G Suite), Okta, Jamf, Cisco Meraki, Zoom, Slack
  • Familiarity with KPIs, SLOs, and SLAs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex systems to non-technical internal customers.

Preferred Skills:

  • Has supported, deployed or administered the following technologies: JAMF, OKTA, Meraki, GSuite, Lifesize.
  • Systems Integration Skills: APIs, data connectors, automations.
