The Services Sales Executive positions and sells recurring services to the current customer base and prospects. The SSE identifies revenue opportunities through collaboration with Blackbaud AE Sales teams and Customer Operations teams as an overlay sales resource.  

Job Summary

Within all Blackbaud Industry Verticals, there is a growing need for ongoing services after initial implementation to ensure that our clients derive business value and tangible benefits from the use of Blackbaud technology. The opportunity to present relevant service offerings and sell additional services to both existing clients and prospects improves customer satisfaction and ensures that our clients are using our products and technology to their fullest potential.

Within the Services Sales team, the Services Sales Executive will be responsible to drive back to base services sales and offerings to existing clients and prospects.  The SSE will identify revenue generating opportunities within the current customer base through direct communication with customers, opportunities identified by the vertical AE sales teams,  leads from Customer Success and the Employee Sales Lead (ESL) program, promotion of specific offers and packages, and other activities as needed. The SSE will qualify leads, recommend solutions, and present estimates to customers that will drive opportunities through the sales pipeline and close the deal.  The SSE will be responsible for pipeline development, creating new opportunities, and closing new business for services that are sourced with clients and prospects.  The role will also be responsible for generating call lists, pipeline creation, forecasting and coordinating efforts as needed with BDRs, AEs, AAEs, and CSMs. 

The primary responsibilities of the Services Sales Executive are to meet or exceed services bookings quota to ensure growth and maintenance of a sufficient services pipeline to meet bookings targets and services revenue commitments. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Meet or exceed a services bookings quota as an overlay/co-seller with the vertical sales teams
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for growth based on learned client needs.
  • Work with marketing to create sales enablement materials, programs, and tools that will help sell services and technology solutions
  • Help create compelling and relevant customer stories
  • Present customers on the value of services (professional, business consulting and managed), supporting technology solutions, analytics solutions, and Blackbaud products
  • Report on the services pipeline, bookings, key opportunities, customer profile lists and team performances to Vertical Market BU Presidents, their sales leaders, Account Executives, and Customer Success Manager’s

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience positioning, selling, supporting, or delivering professional and/or managed services in the nonprofit, healthcare or higher education vertical markets
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of technology infrastructure components, including business intelligence, data integration methods, and cloud hosting solutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of how Services are run in a technology company, such as Professional Services, Managed Services, Business Consulting Services and so on.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization (within Blackbaud and with vertical market clients).
  • Comfort level in owning and managing to a team quota.
  • Discipline of documenting all sales activities via a standard sales process and lifecycle
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM preferred
  • A positive attitude and the ability to stay flexible in a fast paced, changing environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree
