Reporting to the Manager, Underwriting & Compliance, this position will support all of Cerity’s insurance-related activities, particularly Customer Service, Underwriting and Compliance.

Specific duties include:

  • Direct customer service (both telephonic and live chat) as well as assisting more junior staff with both underwriting concepts and customer service standards in support of same
  • Drafting and implementing process and workflows for policy issuance, and post issuance activities
  • Setting customer service best practices Policy admin system configuration requirements for rate, price, underwriting rules, and forms
  • Post issuance compliance related activities like WCPOLS reporting (both direct processing as well as leading the automation of low complexity tasks)
  • Quality Assurance of new business policies, customer interaction points, and automated renewals
  • Systems testing - both front and back end - pre and post launch
  • Review of Bureau Notices to determine the action needed etc.
  • Directly responsible for Auditing - both interim and final - and eventual automation of same
  • Identify and address areas of improvement across Cerity’s technical and procedural landscape and address accordingly through proper channels - JIRA Story/VSTS, business case
  • Assistance with product filings
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 5 years or more of insurance related work experience
  • Licensed General Lines Property and Casualty Producer in home state, or successfully pass exam within 2 months of hire date
  • Bachelor’s or more advanced degree; business or quantitative field preferred
  • Understanding of the insurance industry and underwriting concepts required
  • Demonstrates strong ability to communicate complex insurance requirements and information in understandable written and/or oral directives for underwriting, training, or system automation
  • Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills at any level of an organization: senior leadership, technical/development staff, service reps
  • Excellent organizational skills as well as attention to detail
