The responsibilities of the Director, Real Estate Retail (SFR) Investments will be to run all the operational aspects of the end to end Real Estate Retail process. This includes overseeing the single-family home acquisitions, investment committees, and closing of the homes and then driving the process through construction, marketing, and sales of the products. The role is also focused on the creation of PODS in the markets to drive quicker decision making and local expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight leader of the business plan and execution of Retail assets thru the operations of the platform
  • Manage analyst(s) responsible for identifying and underwriting retail investment opportunities in accordance with corporate directives
  • Accountable for an asset by asset business plan
  • Reporting on an asset by asset performance in progress
  • Accountable for determining best retail exit on institutional dispositions
  • Leads weekly Retail Investment & Pricing Committee (convenes Acq, Design, AM, Construction and Sales)
  • Ensures cross-functional operational feedback occurs on each asset to improve buy box, process and decision making upstream and downstream
  • Onboard POD leaders on processes and procedures; creating manuals
  • Review, assist and support POD leaders’ acquisitions and ensure governance begins with proper information for them to close

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance - Master’s degree preferred
  • 8+ years of experience, real estate acquisitions and underwriting retail investment opportunities
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading teams
  • Strong communication skills at all levels within the organization
  • Data analytics-driven, and able to create & deliver reports for executive leadership and investors
  • Experience with Tableau preferred
  • Proficiency in modeling and analytics with Microsoft Excel required (SQL a Huge plus but not required) 
  • The candidate should be extremely detail-oriented and organized with a proven ability to work well in a high-intensity environment to complete tasks quickly and effectively
