Firefly Space Systems is the latest company to join the Capital Factory Accelerator, capturing an investment from the accerlerator as well.
This is the first involvement Capital Factory has had with the space industry, Executive Director Josh Baer wrote in a blog post, and he realizes that Firely isn't the type of company that would normally want to use their services. But, they'll be able to tap into the Capital Factory network, amplify their message and recruit talent among other benefits.
Firefly provides low-cost, high-performance space launch capability for the under-served small satellite market.
"Our focus is still on software and internet companies," Baer wrote. "However, we’re not afraid to break our own rules to make an exception for something great."
