4 local tech companies make this year's Inc. 500 list

Wednesday morning, Inc. 5000 released their 2016 rankings of the nation’s fastest-growing companies, with Austin tech companies claiming four spots in the top 500. The list ranked companies based on a three-year revenue growth rate, with Los Angeles’s Loot Crate, a gaming box subscription service, earning the top spot after yielding a 66,789 percent three-year growth rate and $116.2 million in revenue.
 
Last year, Noonday Collection, a jewelry and accessories seller sourced around the world, lead Austin companies on the Inc. 500 at the 45th spot. In 2016, OutboundEngine, the software developer helping small businesses market themselves, locked in at Austin’s highest spot at 95 (up 41 spots since last year). The company reported a 3,377 percent growth rate and $9.7 million in revenue. 
 
Yourpark.com, a website dedicated to developing low-income housing communities both locally and in New Braunfels, Waco, Le Grande and Bellmead, ranked at 142nd, and earned the third spot across all industries for top Austin companies. 
 
Founded in 2012, digital advertising and marketing firm Status Labs earned the 349th spot and recognition as the 23rd top Texas company. Status Labs works with over 1500 clients in over 35 countries and has offices in New York and Sao Paulo in addition to its headquarters in Austin, where it serves corporations, CEOs, politicians, athletes and other public figures. 
 
At number 410, internet marketing and e-commerce company Native Commerce rounded out the Austin tech companies placing in the top 500, with 942 percent growth and a reported $23.2 million in revenue in 2015. Inc. 5000 also recognized Native Commerce as the 24th Top Consumer Products and Services company.
 
Leveraging the data from its Inc. 5000 list, the publication also put out a ranking of the country's top 10 startup cities — with Austin ranking 5th in the U.S. behind New York City, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Chicago.
