QuotaPath raises $3.5M

TrendKite co-founder AJ Bruno’s new startup QuotaPath, which is split based between Philadelphia and Austin, raised $3.5 million this week. Existing investor ATX Seed Ventures led the round, with a group of internal investors, including Bruno, also participating. Bruno launched QuotaPath to a group of early access users in September last year and has plans to launch open access in the coming months. Its platform provides a quota and commission tracking system for sales reps. [Press Release]

Serial entrepreneur, Amazon tech mentor joins Austin tech as investor

Ryan Merket, a two-time founder, early Facebook employee, angel investor, and, most recently, an advisor and mentor for Amazon’s startup team, has joined Firebrand Ventures as a partner located in Austin. The firm, based out of Kansas City, invests in early-stage Midwest startups, from Austin up to Columbus, and has invested in five local startups to date including Threatcare and ScaleFactor. Guild adds $7.5M to previous funding

According to a filing with the SEC, travel tech company The Guild has raised an additional $7.5 million in funding from 32 investors to a previous round recorded in November of last year. The company, which launched in 2016, hosts travel accommodations in freshly renovated apartments that allow guests to enjoy hotel-quality amenities while living it up local-style. [FormDs]

Claimbot closes $615K seed funding

Austin-based Claimbot has raised a $615,000 seed round from the Google Assistant Investments program, Notley Ventures, Social Starts and several individual angel investors. The company offers a virtual chat engine specific for the insurance and automotive industries. Claimbot, founded by CEO Miguel Fernández, will direct the funding toward product development and sales. Treble launches startup accelerator program

Local PR agency Treble shared this week the opening of its new program, the VC Portfolio Funding Launch Accelerator Program. The five-week accelerator will support startups in maximizing funding announcements through media relations and strategic guidance. Ethan Parker launched the agency from Austin in 2013.
