OutboundEngine scores $14.3 million to expand into new industries. The Austin-based company’s marketing software manages everything from websites to email, text message and social media marketing for small businesses. Alegion snags $12 million to ease the tedious job of AI data labeling. The platform takes companies’ raw data and makes it useful by labeling that it. Alegion plans to go on a hiring spree with the fresh funds, growing from 58 employees to 100, specifically in sales and marketing. [Built In Austin]

Inc. Magazine named the 5000 fastest growing companies, and Austin continues to make a name for itself. Ranked are private companies who began generating revenue in 2015. SupportNinja, Simply NUC and AlertMedia are just three of the Austin tech companies that scored a place on the prestigious list.
