Diligent Robotics, an Austin-based healthcare robotics company, recently announced a $25 million funding round. The new funds will help expand nationwide adoption of its Moxi robot, which the company calls “the first and only socially-intelligent robot teammate” in the healthcare industry. The funds will also help to enhance the company’s product development and market research.
Canaan led the round while True Ventures, Next Coast Ventures and DNX Ventures were among return investors. Northwestern Medicine Innovation also joined as a new strategic investor.
The Moxi robot is designed to increase operational efficiency and support clinical care teams so that staff have more time to focus on patient care. Nationwide, more than 22 health systems representing over 200 hospitals currently use the robot. The company hopes to triple its market footprint in the next 24 months.
